Providing HR Support & Advice to the UBC Community

Human Resources provides support and advice to UBC departments and a range of services for faculty?and staff, including recruitment?and employment, training and development for faculty and staff, labour relations, benefits administration, and the development of human resource policies. The HR team includes over 80 staff?on UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses who work closely with the many human resources professionals and administrators located throughout the university.

Advisory Services

Advisory Services staff can support you with expertise in staff HR issues, such as interpreting the collective agreements and handbooks, day-to-day staff management concerns, and employee relations. We also provide temporary employment opportunities through our Staff Finders unit.

Faculty Relations

Specializing in faculty issues, Faculty Relations can guide you in faculty appointments, compensation, recruiting and immigration.

Faculty Staff Housing & Relocation Services

The Faculty Staff Housing & Relocation Services team provides one-stop information for faculty and staff housing programs and options for ?the Vancouver campus, and Work-Life Relocation support and information on childcare, healthcare benefits, relocation of goods, and immigration in order to help smooth the transition of new faculty, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and families, who are relocating to UBC.

HR Information Systems

Our HRIS team is responsible for the maintenance, training, and administration of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) as well as the web development of the HR website and providing network administration for the department.

Human Resources at the Okanagan Campus

Our Okanagan team provides human resources support through recruitment services, training and professional development, new employee orientation, and labour relations for both faculty and staff.

Pension Administration

UBC is committed to helping faculty and staff create financial security in retirement through its two pension plans – the Faculty Pension Plan (FPP) and the Staff Pension Plan (SPP).
